An Abdomen, Pelvic & Urinary Tract Ultrasound Scan is a non-invasive imaging assessment that uses high-frequency sound waves to examine organs within the abdomen, pelvis and urinary system. It does not use ionising radiation and is considered extremely safe.
This combined scan typically evaluates the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, bladder, uterus, ovaries (in females) or prostate (in males), depending on clinical indication. It allows assessment of organ size, structure, fluid, cysts, masses and bladder emptying.
By combining these regions in one examination, the scan provides a broad diagnostic overview, particularly useful when symptoms overlap or are non-specific.
This scan is recommended when symptoms, blood or urine test results suggest a possible issue affecting multiple internal systems. It helps identify the cause, location and extent of abnormalities early.
You may benefit from this scan if you experience:
Early imaging supports accurate diagnosis and timely management.
Home-Based Abdomen, Pelvic & Urinary Tract Ultrasound (UK-wide)
Important:
All ultrasound scans are provided exclusively as home-visit services. This service is available UK-wide, allowing access to diagnostic imaging without attending a clinic.
Results are interpreted based on organ size, structure, symmetry and appearance, not numerical values.

Where possible, attend your blood test between 7am and 12pm. Please wait until any short-term illness or infection has fully resolved before testing. Avoid intense exercise for 24–48 hours beforehand, as this can affect certain markers.
Fasting is not always required, but some tests may recommend it. If fasting is advised, avoid food for 8–12 hours before your appointment and drink water only. Stay well hydrated, as this helps with sample collection and accuracy.
Continue prescribed medications unless advised otherwise by your clinician. Avoid vitamin, mineral, or biotin supplements for at least 24–48 hours before your test, as these can interfere with results. If you are unsure about any medication or supplement, please let us know before your appointment.
For hormone-related tests, timing within your menstrual cycle may be important. If relevant, follow any specific guidance provided on your test page.
If you have any questions or special circumstances, our team is happy to advise before your appointment.
