The Abdominal & Liver Ultrasound is a home-based examination focused on the liver and associated upper abdominal organs.
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to provide real-time images without ionising radiation.
The scan can assess liver size, texture and visible focal abnormalities and can also examine the gallbladder, bile ducts and other relevant abdominal structures.
It may be useful when liver blood tests are abnormal, fatty liver is suspected, gallstones need investigation or an existing hepatic finding requires monitoring.
Ultrasound can demonstrate structural liver changes but does not measure liver function directly.
Markers such as ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, Bilirubin and Albumin provide biochemical information that complements imaging.
