Why do I need an Advanced GP3 blood test?

This test is designed for people who want maximum clarity, not basic screening.

It allows detection of:

  • Early-stage disease
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Cardiovascular risk
  • Metabolic dysfunction
  • Gut and immune issues
  • Cancer risk markers

You should consider this test if you have:

  • Persistent fatigue
  • Hormonal symptoms (low libido, irregular cycles, mood changes)
  • Weight gain or metabolic resistance
  • Brain fog or poor focus
  • Digestive issues or gut problems
  • Inflammation or joint pain
  • Family history of chronic disease
  • General desire for full health optimisation

This is not a basic test — it’s a full diagnostic overview.

Benefits of the test

  • Covers 100+ biomarkers in one panel
  • Detects early disease before symptoms appear
  • Includes advanced cardiovascular markers
  • Full hormone and thyroid analysis
  • Includes urine and stool testing
  • Identifies inflammation and immune dysfunction
  • Screens key cancer markers
  • Eliminates need for multiple separate tests

This is one of the most complete health assessments available, designed for both prevention and optimisation.

Your results explained

Low levels

Low levels may indicate deficiencies or reduced function:

  • Vitamin D (<25 nmol/L) → deficiency, fatigue, immune issues
  • Ferritin (<30 µg/L) → iron deficiency
  • Testosterone (low) → fatigue, low libido
  • TSH (<0.4 mIU/L) → possible hyperthyroidism

Normal levels

Typical UK ranges:

  • TSH: 0.4 – 4.0 mIU/L
  • HbA1c: <42 mmol/mol
  • Cholesterol: <5 mmol/L

Indicates stable and balanced physiological function.

High levels

Elevated markers may indicate risk:

  • hs-CRP (>3 mg/L) → inflammation
  • HbA1c (>48 mmol/mol) → diabetes
  • LDL (>3 mmol/L) → cardiovascular risk
  • TSH (>4.0 mIU/L) → hypothyroidism

How to Prepare for Your Test

Follow these guidelines for accurate results

Sample Timing

Where possible, attend your blood test between 7am and 12pm. Please wait until any short-term illness or infection has fully resolved before testing. Avoid intense exercise for 24–48 hours beforehand, as this can affect certain markers.

Fasting & Hydration

Fasting is not always required, but some tests may recommend it. If fasting is advised, avoid food for 8–12 hours before your appointment and drink water only. Stay well hydrated, as this helps with sample collection and accuracy.

Medications & Supplements

Continue prescribed medications unless advised otherwise by your clinician. Avoid vitamin, mineral, or biotin supplements for at least 24–48 hours before your test, as these can interfere with results. If you are unsure about any medication or supplement, please let us know before your appointment.

Hormones & Menstrual Cycle

For hormone-related tests, timing within your menstrual cycle may be important. If relevant, follow any specific guidance provided on your test page.

If you have any questions or special circumstances, our team is happy to advise before your appointment.
