Details about Allergy Complete - 295 allergens tested

About the Test

This test can check for close to 300 relevant allergen sources (except drug allergens, such as penicillin). We have the most comprehensive panel in the UK which also tests for molecular allergens, which allows for a comprehensive understanding of allergic cross-reactions and a risk assessment of food allergies (to allow for tailor-made dietary recommendations). Likewise, allergen-specific immunotherapy can be directed against the main triggers of symptoms (available for pollen, house dust mites and insect venoms). This test looks for elevated levels of IgE which causes Type I allergies.

Frequently Asked Questions

This panel tests close to 300 allergens and includes molecular (component-resolved) allergens, allowing more precise identification of true allergies and cross-reactions.

It detects Type I (IgE-mediated) allergies, which are responsible for immediate allergic reactions such as hives, swelling, asthma and anaphylaxis.

Molecular allergens identify specific protein components within an allergen, helping distinguish true allergy from cross-reactivity and assess the risk of severe food reactions.

Yes. It is especially useful for people with complex symptoms, multiple reactions, or unclear triggers where basic allergy testing has been inconclusive.

Yes. It covers a wide range of plant-based foods (fruits, nuts, grains, legumes, spices, vegetables) and animal-derived foods (milk, egg, meat, fish and seafood).

Yes. It includes grass, tree and weed pollens, house dust and storage mites, fungal spores, yeasts, animal dander and insect allergens.

These are groups of allergens with similar protein structures that can cause reactions across different foods or pollens, such as pollen-food syndrome.

Yes. By identifying true allergies versus cross-reactions, it supports personalised and safer dietary planning rather than unnecessary food avoidance.

Yes. Identifying the main allergen triggers allows immunotherapy to be targeted more accurately for pollens, house dust mites and insect venoms.

Yes. It measures total IgE alongside allergen-specific IgE, helping interpret overall allergic load and immune activity.
