SelectedThe MSM2 STI Screening Profile is an extended, high-sensitivity sexual health test that combines urine PCR testingwith blood serology. It detects common, emerging, and often-missed sexually transmitted infections in a single comprehensive profile.
PCR testing identifies the genetic material of infections present in the urinary tract, while blood tests detect systemic and blood-borne infections. This combination provides a deeper and more complete assessment than standard STI panels.
Some STIs are frequently missed on basic screening but can still cause symptoms, transmission, or long-term complications. This profile is designed for higher-risk or more thorough screening.
You may benefit from this test if you:
Want broader STI coverage than standard panels
Have ongoing or unexplained urogenital symptoms
Have multiple or new sexual partners
Engage in condomless sex
Have previously tested negative but still have symptoms
Want reassurance after potential exposure
Require routine comprehensive sexual health screening
Extended PCR testing increases detection of infections that may otherwise go undiagnosed.
Extensive STI coverage
Screens for bacterial, viral, and blood-borne infections.
High-sensitivity PCR detection
Identifies infections even at low levels.
Includes emerging and atypical STIs
Covers Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma species.
Detects asymptomatic infections
Many infections cause no obvious symptoms.
Combines urine and blood testing
Provides multi-system assessment.
Reduces false reassurance
Broader testing lowers missed diagnoses.
Suitable for routine or risk-based screening
Can be repeated based on exposure risk.
Single coordinated profile
Avoids multiple separate tests.

Where possible, attend your blood test between 7am and 12pm. Please wait until any short-term illness or infection has fully resolved before testing. Avoid intense exercise for 24–48 hours beforehand, as this can affect certain markers.
Fasting is not always required, but some tests may recommend it. If fasting is advised, avoid food for 8–12 hours before your appointment and drink water only. Stay well hydrated, as this helps with sample collection and accuracy.
Continue prescribed medications unless advised otherwise by your clinician. Avoid vitamin, mineral, or biotin supplements for at least 24–48 hours before your test, as these can interfere with results. If you are unsure about any medication or supplement, please let us know before your appointment.
For hormone-related tests, timing within your menstrual cycle may be important. If relevant, follow any specific guidance provided on your test page.
If you have any questions or special circumstances, our team is happy to advise before your appointment.
