Details about Premier General Health Profile
What is the Premier General Health Profile?
The Premier General Health Profile is a comprehensive blood test designed to assess overall health by evaluating organ function, metabolic status, iron balance, cardiovascular risk, and blood cell health.
This profile includes:
-
Urea, Creatinine, eGFR
-
Liver Function Tests (LFTs)
-
Iron (Fe), UIBC, TIBC, Transferrin Saturation
-
Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH)
-
Creatine Kinase (CK)
-
Calcium & Phosphate
-
Uric Acid
-
Cholesterol Profile (Total, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides)
-
HbA1c
-
Full Blood Count (FBC)
Together, these markers provide a detailed snapshot of kidney and liver health, iron status, glucose control, cardiovascular risk, muscle integrity, and overall blood health.
Why do I need a Premier General Health Profile?
Many health issues develop gradually and may not cause symptoms in the early stages. This profile helps identify early abnormalities across multiple systems, allowing proactive management and lifestyle or medical adjustments.
It is particularly useful as a routine health check, baseline assessment, or when symptoms are non-specific and difficult to pinpoint.
You may benefit from this test if you experience:
-
Persistent fatigue or low energy
-
Unexplained weakness or muscle aches
-
Weight changes or metabolic concerns
-
Family history of heart disease or diabetes
-
Monitoring of kidney or liver health
-
Concerns about cholesterol or blood sugar control
-
General health optimisation or annual screening

Your Premier General Health Profile results explained
Results below reference range
Low values may indicate nutritional deficiencies, anaemia, reduced kidney function, or metabolic imbalance depending on the marker involved.
Symptoms may include fatigue, weakness, dizziness, or reduced exercise tolerance.
UK reference interpretation:
-
Low: Below laboratory reference ranges
Results within normal range
Results within range suggest balanced organ function, stable metabolism, healthy blood counts, and no significant abnormalities detected.
These results are useful as a baseline for ongoing health monitoring.
UK reference interpretation:
-
Normal: Within laboratory reference ranges
Results above reference range
Elevated values may reflect inflammation, liver or kidney stress, high cholesterol, impaired glucose control, muscle injury, or metabolic imbalance depending on the marker.

Follow these guidelines for accurate results
Sample Timing
Where possible, attend your blood test between 7am and 12pm. Please wait until any short-term illness or infection has fully resolved before testing. Avoid intense exercise for 24–48 hours beforehand, as this can affect certain markers.
Fasting & Hydration
Fasting is not always required, but some tests may recommend it. If fasting is advised, avoid food for 8–12 hours before your appointment and drink water only. Stay well hydrated, as this helps with sample collection and accuracy.
Medications & Supplements
Continue prescribed medications unless advised otherwise by your clinician. Avoid vitamin, mineral, or biotin supplements for at least 24–48 hours before your test, as these can interfere with results. If you are unsure about any medication or supplement, please let us know before your appointment.
Hormones & Menstrual Cycle
For hormone-related tests, timing within your menstrual cycle may be important. If relevant, follow any specific guidance provided on your test page.
If you have any questions or special circumstances, our team is happy to advise before your appointment.
