Details about Standard Screen
What is a Standard Screen?
The Standard Screen is an expanded health panel that builds on the Basic Screen by adding urinalysis, bone health markers, diabetes monitoring (HbA1c), Vitamin D, and ferritin.
It includes:
• Full Blood Count (FBC)
• Heart Health (cholesterol profile)
• Liver Health (ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, bilirubin, albumin)
• Kidney Health (creatinine, eGFR, electrolytes, urea)
• Diabetes Health (glucose and HbA1c)
• Bone Health (Adjusted calcium, phosphate, ALP, Vitamin D)
• Iron Status (Ferritin)
• Full Urinalysis (bilirubin, glucose, ketones, nitrite, pH, protein, RBC, WBC, urobilinogen)
This test offers a strong, practical overview of internal health across multiple systems.
Why do I need a Standard Screen?
This test is ideal when you want more than a basic overview and need additional insight into nutritional status, diabetes control, and urine health.
Reasons for testing include:
• Routine annual screening
• Persistent fatigue or low energy
• Monitoring vitamin D and iron levels
• Checking diabetes control
• Assessing kidney and liver function
• Investigating urinary symptoms
Symptoms that often prompt testing include:
• Tiredness
• Frequent urination
• Dizziness
• Bone aches
• Poor concentration
• Unexplained health concerns
Benefits of the test
1. Broader than a basic health screen
2. Detects vitamin D deficiency
3. Assesses iron stores
4. Monitors long-term blood sugar (HbA1c)
5. Includes urine analysis for extra diagnostic clues
6. Evaluates bone and mineral balance
7. Assesses liver, kidney, and heart health together
8. Ideal for yearly comprehensive checks
Expanded benefit explanation
By combining blood and urine testing with nutritional and metabolic markers, this screen gives a clearer picture of internal health than routine panels.

Follow these guidelines for accurate results
Sample Timing
Where possible, attend your blood test between 7am and 12pm. Please wait until any short-term illness or infection has fully resolved before testing. Avoid intense exercise for 24–48 hours beforehand, as this can affect certain markers.
Fasting & Hydration
Fasting is not always required, but some tests may recommend it. If fasting is advised, avoid food for 8–12 hours before your appointment and drink water only. Stay well hydrated, as this helps with sample collection and accuracy.
Medications & Supplements
Continue prescribed medications unless advised otherwise by your clinician. Avoid vitamin, mineral, or biotin supplements for at least 24–48 hours before your test, as these can interfere with results. If you are unsure about any medication or supplement, please let us know before your appointment.
Hormones & Menstrual Cycle
For hormone-related tests, timing within your menstrual cycle may be important. If relevant, follow any specific guidance provided on your test page.
If you have any questions or special circumstances, our team is happy to advise before your appointment.
